In the legacy email editor, all emails automatically included an unsubscribe option in the footer. In the new email editor, this option must be added manually.
To ensure compliance and provide recipients with the option to opt out, you will need to include an unsubscribe link in your email footer when building emails in the new editor.
Follow the steps below to add it to your email:
When a client clicks the unsubscribe link, they will be prompted to confirm their request in order to complete the un-subscription process.
If a client does not confirm the unsubscribe request, they will be tagged in Pathway with “Subscription Changed”, but they will continue to receive future marketing communications.
It’s also important to note that, for most broker management systems, unsubscribe actions in Pathway do not automatically update marketing preferences in your BMS. Instead, when a client successfully unsubscribes, Pathway will generate an Activity/Task prompting you to manually update their marketing preferences in your system.
The exception to this is Acturis, where consent preferences are automatically synced between Pathway and the BMS in both directions.
