Understanding document delivery in PW

Depending on your level of integration with Pathway, we will sync all of your documents sent from the Insurance carrier. Those will then trigger emails through Pathway, which allows the brokers to send declaration pages and payment schedule documents to their clients.

When setting up electronic document delivery (e-delivery) it needs to be done for different policy transaction types, including:

  • Renewals
  • New business
  • Policy changes
  • Cancellations

Different policy events require different messaging. By separating campaigns, you can tailor the communication based on whether a policy is renewed, newly issued, updated, canceled

This ensures clients receive relevant and accurate information.

Document Delivery by Carrier

The number of documents sent to the client may vary depending on the carrier. Some carriers, such as Aviva, provide a single document that includes both the declaration page and payment schedule. Others, like Wawanesa, issue these as separate documents, requiring two documents to be sent for each transaction.

Below is an example of how Wawanesa documents are sent through Sig, where the declaration page and payment schedule are delivered as separate files.

In this scenario, you will need to configure both eDoc 1 and eDoc 2 filters.

For more details on how to set up these filters, refer to this article.

eDelivery Requirements
For Pathway to generate an eDelivery email, a document must first be downloaded and the corresponding policy must be visible at the policy level.

The policy association depends on the transaction type:

  • For renewals or new business, the document is typically linked to a future term policy.
  • For policy changes, the document is linked to the current term policy.

Once the email is generated, the client can securely download their documents using the link provided in the email.

After clicking the button, the client will be directed to a secure page where they can view and download their documents.

For Auto policies, the client will also have access to a Pink Slip.

With this overview of how eDelivery works, you can now proceed to setting up the eDelivery filters.
