How Pathway Sends Emails (Behind the Scenes)

When emails are sent through Pathway, they are delivered using Pathway’s email servers, but they appear to come directly from your organization.

How Emails Appear to Recipients

Although Pathway sends the email, it is signed with your domain. This means that to your clients, the message looks like it was sent from your team member’s inbox.

How This Is Configured

During the integration process, our team will provide your IT team with instructions to update your domain’s DNS records. These updates include:

  • SPF
  • DKIM
  • DMARC

These records authorize Pathway as an approved sender on behalf of your domain, ensuring emails are delivered securely and recognized as legitimate.

Do Emails Go Through Your Company’s Email Server?

No. Emails sent through Pathway do not pass through your company’s email servers. They are sent directly from Pathway’s infrastructure.

Where Do Replies Go?

Replies are sent to the Reply-To email address specified in the message. In most cases, this is the staff member’s email address that appears as the sender.

This allows responses from clients to go directly to the appropriate team member.
