How to translate BMS fields into Pathway filters

All filters available in Pathway are fields that originate directly from your Broker Management System (BMS).

When creating a filtered list, the main filter category should align with the type of information you want to target:

  • Policy - Select this when filtering by policy-level information (e.g., policy number, effective date, insurer, status).
  • Contact - Select this when filtering by contact-level information (e.g., client name, email, phone number, address).
  • eDoc - Select this when filtering by eDoc-level information (category, description, attach date).
  • Abeyance - Select this when filtering by activity-level information (e.g., activity code, date opened, follow up date).
  • Claim - Select this when filtering by claims-level information (e.g., date closed, date of loss, policy type).

Below is an example of how this appears within Pathway:

Filtering by Claims

Depending on where a field originates within your BMS, you may see additional main filter options. Regardless of the category selected, the filtering logic remains the same - you simply choose the appropriate main filter based on where the information is coming from.

In most campaign setups, multiple filters will need to be combined to accurately define your target audience.

Filters are designed to work together, allowing you to narrow results based on several criteria at once. Combining the appropriate filters ensures your campaign reaches the correct contacts based on your specific objectives.
