Enabling Google Link Tracking

To automatically track the performance of your email campaigns in Google Analytics, you can enable Google Link Tracking in your account settings.

How to enable Google Link Tracking

  1. Navigate to Settings → Account.

  2. Toggle Google Link Tracking to ON.

  3. Save your changes.

Once enabled, all links within your email campaigns will automatically include UTM parameters that allow you to track campaign traffic and engagement in Google Analytics.

Default UTM parameters

When Google Link Tracking is enabled, each link in your emails will automatically include the following UTM parameters:

 
?utm_campaign={email_name}&utm_medium=email&utm_source={list_name}
  • utm_campaign – identifies the specific email name used in the campaign

  • utm_medium – identifies the marketing medium (set as email)

  • utm_source – identifies the sending list or audience source

These parameters are dynamically replaced at send time based on your campaign details.

Manual UTM setup (optional)

If you prefer full control over tracking parameters, you can manually add custom UTM tags to each link while editing your email. Here is how to:
